New Front Door from Page 1
Custom made special sized wood doors &
finish carpenters are expensive. We
worked with Pederson Construction and they installed a single 3’-6” wide by
7’-6” high single door for $4948.66.
Nearly all of the funds were donated over the last two years.
Our old double doors not only were about to fall
apart, they did not lock well, did not have a crash bar for fire exit, and
did not meet the American Disabilities Act.
The doors were only 30 inches wide and had to be a minimum of 36
inches wide.
Our new door is 42 inches wide and has double
glass lites instead of wood panels allowing the public to see into our
entry hall. The best thing is that
the hall is not dark during the day, the light spills in through the door.
Our new door allows easy access of wheel chairs
and has handle door hardware to allow easy opening. Please use our new front door and come
see your Brothers at lodge or the next dinner.
John McNab
Illustrious and Most Worshipful Brother John D. McNab passed to that
Lodge in the sky, not made with human hands on October 9, 2009.
John was active in performing the degrees of the Scottish Rite for
the Valley.
John was a long time member of the Valley of Bellingham. He was the Personal Representative of
William R. Miller to the Valley of Bellingham when he was elected to serve
as Grand Master of the Free and Accepted Masons of Washington. He resigned as PR for the Valley so that
he could dedicate 100% of his time to being Grand Master.

New Red Hat Awarded
From page 1
Mark’s daughter and wife Jackie were also at the
ceremony in Tacoma. Mark has been
very active in selecting our students to receive scholarships from the
Scottish Rite Scholarship Foundation of Washington. He is also our director to the
Foundation.
Mark has an interesting background. When he joined the Valley he worked in
the section of Microsoft that produced MSNBC. When he left Microsoft to go to work for
Paul Allen he was in the number 3 position in the corporation.
Mark worked for Paul Allen for several years managing
Paul’s toys, including his yachts.
He left Paul Allen’s employ and opened up his own consulting firm,
Mesg LLC.
Mark is a software engineer by trade but has a wide
variety of talents. Recently he used
his talent to develop an online scholarship application system for the
Scottish Rite Foundation of Washington.
Mark’s system will make it easier for students to apply and be
assigned to a director to guide them through the application process.
Congratulations Mark!!!
