From the Desk
of the Editor.
Being temporary editor of
the Valley’s newsletter seems to be growing into a semi-permanent job. I’m still here and no one is volunteering
to take over the job.
In April I made the 5-year
mark in my battle with kidney cancer.
It has been just over two years since my last flare up. Only 4% of those with Kidney Cancer live
5-years. I’m a lucky man.
However, you can never
get over confident with Phase IV metastatic Renal Cancer. My last CT Scan revealed a tumor on my
remaining kidney and I’m headed back to the UW to see my oncologist. Your prayers will be appreciated.
I’m happy to report that the Valley is
alive and well. Attendance is up,
especially at special meetings on the third Wednesday where we are opening
the other lodges. I had never seen a
Council of Kadosh opened for the purpose of a stated meeting before and it
happened last month with 15 members present.
As if that isn’t good
enough, in September the SGIG Bill Miller, 33° visited our Stated Meeting
for Rose Croix in the third Wednesday and that was the first time I had
seen Rose Croix opened for the purpose of a stated meeting.
And it even got better,
at the Stated Meeting of the Council of Kadosh our new Honormen, Charles
Anway, 32°KCCH and John Sleeth, 32°KCCH were introduced to the lodge. Isn’t life great?
