Visitation to Fraser Valley Lodge of Perfection
By Steve
Cronkhite, Venerable Master
On Saturday October 13,
2007 four brothers from the Valley of Bellingham traveled north to seek out
the Fraser Valley Lodge of Perfection.
These days you know you
must be doing something right if you arrive at the Canadian Border and you
are only the third car in line.
Brothers Chuck Anway,
32°KCCH, Steve Cronkhite, 32°KCCH, Wayne Deming, 33°, and Jim Moen, 33° caught the Canadian
border guards off-guard and were allowed to enter Canada.
From the Lynden Border
Crossing it is only about a 15 minute drive to the City of Langley where
the Fraser Valley Lodge of Perfection meets and we arrived during their
business meeting just in time to enjoy the 13th degree that was
held after the business meeting.
We were welcomed into the
Lodge and enjoyed the ceremony.
Fraser Valley Lodge of Perfection confers all of the degrees in the
Lodge of Perfection each year. They
did a masterful job of the Thirteenth Degree.
After the degree we went
down to the main floor dining room and were served a banquet cooked by
Brother Herb Chow and a Bethel of the Jobs Daughters. Herb has visited our Valley several
times.

After dinner we again
visited the Lodge Room where the 14° was conferred. All of their degrees are just a little
different than our degrees, just enough to make visiting a unique
experience.
Next time you have the
opportunity to visit the Fraser Valley Lodge of Perfection I urge you to
find the time. You won’t be
disappointed with the fellowship or the high caliber degree work.
Dues and other things of interest
By Steve
Cronkhite
It is dues time again and the Valley
has been looking at the income and member services balancing act that we
must face with our dwindling income.
Two years ago
we put out too many newsletters and let costs get out of hand and we had to
really tighten our belts this year and only offer newsletters on our
website:
www.scottish-rite.com
We strive, in
the Valley of Bellingham, to offer the most program for the buck and our
degree study sessions this year are offering a different approach to
Scottish Rite Masonry. I have found
the sessions peak my interest and make me read the books I have. If you haven’t been to lodge lately, come
join us.
Another very
recent change in the lodge is that we are now having dinner on the third
Thursday at 6:30 also. More time to
break bread and enjoy time with your fellow Scottish Rite Brothers.
